WEDDING, VISITING EDUCATORS, WORLD SOLAR CAR CHALLRNHR, PORK BARREL AND POST ELECTION WORDS

WEDDING VOWS
Wedding vows and wedding rings exchanged under Australian blue skies on a sunny spring day, brought long time friends to a teary mood. Juna tossed her wedding bouquet in a ceremonial act of farewell to singlehood. The motif of the wedding was Filipiniana but with an added South Australian touch. The reception was set up under a huge marquee and tables were provided with bottles of Barossa port and wines. Newly weds Jonathan and Juna (MC) Perez were a picture of happiness in that perfectly blessed moment of their lives. CONSULAR DINNER
ConGen Dr. Reynaldo Dante Juanta OAM and mrs. Cora Juanta, recently hosted a Consular Dinner for visiting Philippine educators on Sept 11 (Thursday) at Cafe Primo, Anzac Highway (hosted by ConGen Dr. And Mrs. Reynaldo Dante Juanta. Guests: UE Dean (Education) Evelina Macalalang, Dr. Fe Hidalgo, UE Pres. Ms. Ester Garcia and Fr. Onofre Inicencio, Jr.(Don Bosco). The team was in Australia for an Education-Observation visit in several states.

WORLD SOLAR CAR CHALLENGE
Do you remember “Sikat II” – the Philippines’ entry to the solar car race from Darwin to Adelaide three years ago? They are back this year to join World Solar Challenge from October 6-12. The team consists of Engineering students from De La Salle University, accompanied by their professors. According to the letter of Jack Catalan to the consulate, the team’s head coordinator, the team is expected to be in Darwin as early as 21st of September.
It’s springtime and with blue skies, spring sunshine, verdant green foliage and vegetation of the hills in the east, brilliant blooms, and variant cacophony in the aviary world atop huge gum trees in the vicinity of my home, I should be happily sipping my tea and nibbling on wedges I order from my favourite watering hole. But with the mind diverted to graver concerns thousands of miles away, where old loyalties lie and memories tie you down to I can only be morose at best.
MANILA - Amidst the explosive eruption of the pork barrel scam that got the whole nation mesmerized in an unprecedented scale of euphoria, the small forgotten people in distant nooks and crannies ( almost like never-never lands) go about their mediocre lives unfazed. Those trillions of stolen funds were as far away as the moon is from their reach anyway. Their reality is limited within their immediate vicinity and those that directly affect them. Let’s not lose our sight on that.

Indeed, it is why we must have citizens check and balance! “... A wise man once said, ‘ distrust and caution are the parents of security’. After all, it is every citizen’s duty to guard our coffer’s guardians. This will help the public servants to stay grounded and remind them who they are working for. It is also part of every citizen’s duty to change public servants whenever they become dirty, distrust and caution are the parents of security. After all, it is every citizen’s duty to guard our coffer’s guardians. This will help the public servants to stay grounded and remind them who they are working for. It is also part of every citizen’s duty to change public servants whenever they become dirty”
Napoles is now the common escape goat of the corrupt government officials who benefited from the pork barrel scam using her. Banking on the cultist but fragile attention focus of Pinoys and their inherent indecisiveness as shown by their vacillating social conscience and unpredictable moral shifts, these crooks are biding their time by whatever means they could distract the attention of the populace away from it.

NEED ONE SAY ANYMORE?

A comment said it all: “There’s just no word that fits such extreme shamelessness and avarice of these creatures at all! They play on the ‘constitution’ and twist the words around. They go lower than low - capitalize on a 2,000 value of a Dialysis of an indigent to perpetuate their insatiable greed! They use the dying and the sick for the lifeline of the mega-million pork barrel that they still cannot part with despite their atrociously horrifying obesity from thieved funds and other donating governments’ largesse? CORRUPTION in person has many other names: past, present and future. We can start a thread with one and continue on without ever duplicating a name and the thread still keeps going unless we try our hardest to stomp it out.”

The desirable apology to be tended at this point is the return of all the monies they have stolen. And then, this dragon and all his kind to surrender all the assets they have amassed through the years. And then he can start doing his novenas and kneel-crawl from the doorsteps to the altar in Quiapo Church every morning before he gets taken back to his cell. Cell. Oh yes, he has to be incarcerated. The Filipino society  has to contain pestilence-carriers from further infecting an already stinking damaged-culture.

“All these delicadeza, humility and the like that we expect are only possible from human beings. They are not within the reach of Neanderthal beasts, which happen to be the ones that we’ve handed our lives and future to when we put them up there to hold the reins of authority! Our own STUPIDITY has come to roost... bite us hard in the butt and ready to crack our heads!

If they do stop the release of pork barrel fund, the SC should now impose on those Legislators and Congressmen and women to earn their titles! Write up sensible project proposals for their districts and apply for approval by the SC for fund grant. Funds to be given in three staggered disbursements, with the second through to the last disbursement to be given only upon proof of expected progress in the programme or project!

Ow, of course, while the investigation on their dis-honourable misdeeds continues with seething passion, their districts and the people should not altogether suffer with these Crooks. So therefore, they should also be pushed to be working hard in honest labour -the very task that they squeamishly avoided. So, therefore, they should be demanded upon for sensible project proposals for their districts. Get these proposals approved by SC and monies will be made on conditional and staggered releases..

As to the escape of Gigi Reyes, former staff of Enrile, a mouthful was posted: “MY goodness, but all the thieves are doing an exodus our of the Philippines to spread horror around the globe!
Hindi lang ‘yan, look at the Dra Bello brand face: Geez how much would that have been?
Botox is every six months, face lift every couple of years, silicon gel filler is every year, bleroplasty (subject to check up), nose jobs (subject to regular check up), hair colour - every 6 weeks, chemical peel - subject to check up; facial, massage, foot spa, manicure - pedicure - every week or even twice a week ....

From that alone, you’re already talking millions a year.
Add the blings, the fashionable signature dresses and gowns, the shoes and shopping and touring trips overseas and you’re talking MEGA-MILLIONS!!!!
MEGA MILLIONS stolen from the people under their noses!
THAT..... while squatters live in cardboard boxes or in vacated cemetery niches (with the dead’s piled up bones); surviving on discarded food retrieved from restaurant trash bins!!!!!
Those thieves must be brought back to be meted out justice by the very people they have barbarically dis-advantaged!”

Meanwhile, a sensible piece of mind came from Canada: “The Philippine scandal involving graft and corruption in all levels of government is similar to massive infestations by termites. In order to fix the problem the entire rotten structure needs to be replaced with perhaps, a concrete edifice. In effect, an overall change of societal attitude has to happen before the country and her people can experience success. It’s a revolutionary undertaking that starts from home, churches, community and education.” By Joel Villanueva of Canada

POST ELECTION WORDS

A proud mum’s letter about her girl came into my mailbox. And it touched the mother’s heart in me. Indeed, a mother will always be a mother to her child. Way to go Aida!

“Carmen did very well with the primary votes. She lost in the preferences bcoz the Greens gave their votes to Kate Ellis. I think Filipinos should be proud of her achievement as a first timer, a neophyte in politics and despite limited financial resources against the sitting Minister who is said to have spent millions in her campaign against Carmen who sure gave her a fright. Maybe we could network this information and recognise the effort of Carmen and more media recognition of Carmen & not just a one liner. We are disappointed but proud that the 7.5 % swing needed to win Adelaide is has to contain pestilence-carriers from further infecting an already stinking damaged-culture.

Funds to be given in three staggered disbursements, with the second no more but instead making Adelaide a marginal seat, a winnable seat now. Thank you all for your support especially to one person who inspired Carmen to fight the fight and who believed in her right from the start, thank you To Rudy G.
